Cat Care

Cats can live up to 20 human years given proper care. The oldest cat recorded was 36 years of age.

Although cats are obligate carnivores (taking preference on meat or flesh only), they occasionally chomp on grass to aid in digestion and prevent fur ball.

Certain human foods with additives have been found to be deadly to cats like barbeque and pizza sauces. Pet owners must be very well informed with cat nutrition.

Bathing cats may not be regularly required since they groom themselves all the time.

Household cats are preferred sterilized (neutered for males or spayed for females) to prevent them from straying and looking for mates when they are in-heat. Removal of the gonads also prevents testicular or ovarian cancer. Female cats are also spared from body trauma caused by giving birth.

Cats must also be immunized against feline leukaemia and rabies.
